A congressional candidate in Alabama, Rick Barber, a self-described tea party adherent, claims in a new advertisement that the health law amounts to "slavery," reports, in a separate story. "In his latest ad, the tea party candidate is speaking with a revived Abraham Lincoln.
'Hey Abe,' Barber says, 'if someone is forced to work for months to pay taxes so that a total stranger can get a free meal, a medical procedure or a bailout, what's that called?' Before Lincoln answers, Barber cuts in to ask: 'What's it called when one man is forced to work for another?' 'Slavery,' Lincoln says.”
"Barber will face Martha Roby in a runoff on July 13 for the GOP nomination to oppose incumbent Alabama Rep. Bobby Bright (D) in November." Barber defended his ad, which also included Nazi imagery, saying "Somebody has to say this. When Hitler took power, no one wanted to think that the Holocaust, the murder of 6 million Jewish people, was possible. I'm saying that you have to recognize and name tyranny when you see it", according to MSNBC.

Rush Holt said in his Federal Budget Testimony from March, 2009 that “[i]n these troubled economic times, science is the ideal investment because it provides jobs now while laying the foundation for our future economic growth. As Speaker Pelosi said best, the way to move forward as a nation is ‘through science, science, science, and science.”
Is the federal government the only entity that has ever invested in R&D and create economic growth? What do you expect coming from a plasma scientist who funnels an overwhelming sum of taxpayer dollars to his former employer, Princeton University, and all their social experiments conducted in Trenton. What should be our national priority when faced with ballooning deficits and debts, Rush Holt would have you listen to, and believe, Nancy Pelosi, as he does so very often, and triple spending increases on discretionary research and development, or should we employ tough decisions, make modest cuts in non-essential programs, and use that revenue to pay off the national debt and reduce the federal deficit, which would benefit all of us in the district, not just a few influential constituents in one part of it.
Scott Sipprelle is the fresh choice for people of the district. Mr. Sipprelle has the successful business experience, personal character, courage, determination, a proven track record of reform needed in a public servant, so that they can understand what the challenges are, and provide practical solutions for renewal in the 21st century. There is no way we can stand on the sideline anymore and let another congressional session recklessly spend our money because we are apathetic or disgusted with the process. The result is determined by us. Vote for Scott Sipprelle in November, and debt and deficits will be something to remember.
