“Bush reopens White House press room after 11-month reconstruction.”

I read the news today, oh boy:

“Bush reopens White House press room
after 11-month reconstruction.”

Not really sure why it needed to be reopened. Bush does not say much. And the press corps never presses him for much. But it has been 11 months since the White House Press Corps was in the West Wing shouting questions.

And let’s see how things have changed in there in the last 11 months:

Eleven months ago, “… the antiquated old air conditioner….tended to leak from the ceiling vents when it was particularly overworked.”
Today, there is a new super-powered cooling system.

Eleven months ago, depending upon who you asked –Fox, Gallup or CNN --- pegged the president's approval ratings somewhere between between 37% and 40%.
Today depending upon who you asked –the same sources have W hovering somewhere between 21% and 26%.

Eleven months ago, the Republicans controlled both houses of Congress.
Today, the Democrats control both houses.

Eleven months ago every Republican in Congress firmly supported the president on his Iraq war policies.
Today, more and more Republican members of Congress are leaving the president standing alone.

What has not changed in eleven months: This president’s insane irreversible stand on this war. More and more needless lives lost.

Some things never change.
